LC2 Chair
LC2 chair is the most iconic product of the LC collection.
Its designer was Le Corbusier, the “Father of Architectural Functionalism” and an avant-garde architect amidst prevailing classism.
Le Corbusier
Launched in 1928, the LC2 chair has been an epitome of modern architecture and a synonym for style, rationality and superiority. It has remained one of a kind till this day. Le Corbusier invented the tubular steel frame that is in line with modern architecture and is a timeless classic in the history of design. The LC2 chair has become the prototype of many modern chairs. The debut of LC2 chair amidst prevailing classism brought fundamental changes to sofa aesthetics and gave rise to new sofa forms. The bold uncovered steel framework was not made in one piece but was composed of five squares, looking like a piece of bean curd surrounded by lines and frames. The simple structure, however, imparts luxury and style, brings together aesthetics and functionality, and presents a unique, avant-garde look.
In 1965, Fondation Le Corbusier and Cassina entered into an exclusive license agreement for the manufacturing and distribution of the LC collection. Over the past century, the LC2 chair has remained one of the favorites of many businessmen, designers and architects.

Pierre Jeanneret
In the 1950s, Pierre Jeanneret and Le Corbusier were invited by the Indian government to renovate the city Chandigarh and design an ensemble of furniture.
Capital Complex was meant to “provide a chair for the citizens of Chandigarh”. No sooner had the chair been rolled out in the 1950s than it was put into mass production. In the next decades, it has remained popular for its modernist look. The Chandigarh chair has become one of the most sought-after items among collectors and auction houses and also one of the most treasured items at the most luxury residences around the world.
Pierre Jeanneret was born in Geneva. He was a gifted painter, artist and architect at a young age. The influence of Le Corbusier, his cousin and lifetime mentor, is evident on him. Although he has worked with Le Corbusier on a lot of projects, he has kept a low-profile and been humble, which is mirrored by his modest and smoothly elegant designs.
The Chandigarh Chair not only adds radiance to a space but also strikes a balance between tradition and modernity, the old and the new, for which it has become the favorite woven rattan wooden chair of designers and furniture collectors. Since the 1950s, the Chandigarh Chair has synthesized tradition and modernity in line with the principles of Bauhaus. Embodying the connection between the past, present and future of the design, the Chandigarh Chair has remained popular till today.
Utrecht ARMCHAIR
637 Utrecht Armchair was designed by noted Dutch architect and industrial designer Gerrit Thomas Rietveld for Cassina in 1935.
Gerrit Thomas Rietveld
The name of the chair was inspired by the designer’s hometown – Utrecht, the Netherlands. The novel appearance design created a stir then and still looks chic today.
As one of the principal members of the Dutch artistic movement - De Stijl, Gerrit has created many "revolutionary" designs. The Rietveld Schröder House he designed was put on the United Nations World Heritage List in 2000.
This armchair does not have the typical legs of a regular chair. Its iconic contour is composed of two L-shaped armrests embracing a slightly inclined back seat. Each part of the work is spacious. The overall structure is a little bit rigid but incomparably elegant and ergonomic.
Gerrit ingeniously applied architectural design concepts in the creation of this chair. The strong visual impact, geometrical elements and bright colors break free from any conventional styles and suit almost all kinds of spatial arrangement.
